Please attach any mockups you have created for SIAB Themes.
Whether its a photo of a drawing on a napkin or a full fledged photoshop design.
Mock up of a video-centric site. This is by Milt Lee. The piece that needs work on this page is the grabbing of an image on the right side, and inserting it into the vPIP player in the center of the page. Enric says this could be done with JS - since vPIP is also javascript.

David from Shadow World sketched up this vision for a theme.

Here we imagine what kinds of video projects that creators usually work on. They would simply choose the theme for their current project.
The idea is that we use multiple loops to allow creators to post videos on the front page in different ways based on the category they are given. This will break the diary format (newest on top) of the traditional wordpress blog. This will also allow creators to make their archives consistently relevant by putting it on the front page appropriately.
Roadtrip Theme: Rudy and Mario made a nice Roadrip site. They used mapbuilder.net.http://amandacongdon.com/america/
we could use the Google Maps plugin.
be good for SustainableRoute.com
Season/Series Theme: videobloggers would like the option to post a certain number of episodes per "season".
This theme will let you choose how many episodes in the season, showcase each season with thumbnails and descriptons, and let you go into "rerun" mode.
Could it also let you choose a different look for each season?
Zine Theme: Many of us remember the 80's and 90's when people made homemade magazines on Xerox machines. This theme mimics that look and lets you showcase "issues".
You can create different reoccuring sections for each issue and just fill in the info.
Showcase theme (http://havemoneywillvlog.com)
all these projects. how can we arrange them so you can see the newest one, but the older projects are still being updated.
maybe this theme? http://www.wpelements.com/2008/02/05/the-wpe-video-gallery-theme-preview
another good example: http://www.allvoices.com/
the problem to solve is....how do you showcase media made by people
all over the world?
--show a map with clickable dots
--make category lists with clickable thumbnails!
Archival Theme (Lost in light) (http://nexttoheaven.net/)
all this archival video. How do we make the video be more findable?
god example: http://pad.ma
Nexttoheaven made this page for all his posts: http://www.nexttoheaven.net/all/
works well with vPIP's thickbox.
Local news theme (Swajana)
Maybe the Structure theme could help. Currently seems too busy.
I'd love a theme for people who want to do a community videoblog. like a local newspaper in video.
Current TV-like theme: http://getfreshcut.com/
maybe like this: http://justintadlock.com/archives/2008/02/24/options-wordpress-theme
Documentary Theme (http://undertheel.blogspot.com/) (colombianmigrationproject.org)
I like http://colombiamigrationproject.net/. It's a static html site, but why cant we do this with WP? be great for projects that have a clear beginnin and end, yet you want to show the project in its total.
Updating Text/Video separate: i like this layout. The text stories are on the left. The video for the day on the right. Boinkology is a good example. They post one video a week, but update the text several times a day.
Group Themes: allow people to do group video projects like http://semanal.org
Episodic Theme: for those creators who publish in "seasons" and want "reruns".
For some vloggers... they like to keep a regular schedule with their vlogs. And post on a regular schedule.
So...... rather than taking a break from their vlog (and stop posting).... one could post _reruns_.... thus maintaining that regular schedule... even when they need a break from their vlog.
Epic Fu Theme (Layers instead of Columns): black background. each section is a layer on the page so its easier to scrool and enjoy the content.
"Intro Video" theme: this allows you to add an "intro Video" next to your main video. This is for creators who dont like to include themselves in the main video, but want to still make a personal connection with the audience.
Resume Theme: a theme for video creators who just want a resume site to show off their work. It would be totaly stripped down to focus on the videos.
Interactive Video theme: this would allow creators to build a site for shorter raw clips that a viewer can navigate in a non-linear way. see http://www.videodefunct.net
Festival theme: allow people to quickly set up sites like http://fromheretoawesome.com/blog or http://pixelodeonfest.com
